It has been always been a dream of every person to own a home of their own which one could say as their own. Although owning a home has become one of the riskiest and expensive feats in one's life as often we hear stories about disputes and frauds or even dissatisfaction after buying a home. Although real estate is a great investment it also involves risk especially when you are investing in the metropolitan.

How did I end up buying my dream home in Housing.com?

I've always been quite afraid and conscious while thinking about buying a home for myself and my family whenever the thought came to my mind. Although the need never arose as being a railway officer in the Indian Railways, I have always been provided with an officer's bungalow to live in which have been quite comfortable and me and my family have spent most of our life in the suburbs and therefore investment in real estate and that too in a metropolitan was a big risk for me.

As I'm close to my retirement now I do have to think of settling down somewhere as now the time has come to think about investing my money on a real estate. My son has completed his engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore and now has been working as an IT engineer in Chennai with TCS for the last 4 years. He has settled there well and now thinks of taking a bigger house for rent in Chennai us as he wants us to move there with him.

The thought of moving to Chennai after retirement sometimes did strike my mind but the adversities of searching a house for rent in Chennaiby my son seemed impossible as he was already very busy with his office work and it would be a burden on his shoulders that I did not want him to take up. Eventually, I thought of searching a house for rent in Chennaimyself to which my son agreed after a lot of coaxing. But I had no idea where I will start and neither did my wife.

I started searching for a house for rent in Chennai through some newspapers and internet browsing but seriously I ended up nowhere as most of the advertisements were for flats for sale in Chennaiand that to places which I had no idea whether they are any good or not. There was no way of knowing whether the developer or the broker in the advertisement was duping us or not.

My son had provided me with some good places which would be close to his office or would have better commute options and a good locality for living. Some of the places mentioned by him were Guduvancheri, Velachery, Tambaram, and Selaiyur. I have heard that Chennai has one of the costliest real estate markets in southern India due to its location as well as the rapid industrial development and therefore I knew that these places would be very expensive, but I had to find the most cost-effective house for rent in Chennaias I can't put too much of monetary burden on my son.

As there were very few houses for rent in Chennai which I could procure through internet and newspaper adverts I thought that I would not be able to provide much help to my son and ultimately he would have to arrange it for himself. But my pride was yet to give in and I thought about buying flats for sale in Chennai.I thought that with my retirement money at least I could afford and gift my son an apartment in Chennai.

But my wife didn't like my plan and told me about it to my son. My son immediately told me to halt my plans of doing so as he was not sure about his future working in Chennai at all and it would not be a good investment to do so. Therefore my option of buying flats for sale in Chennai also went in vain and I was almost about to submit my pride of finding a house for rent in Chennaiwhen one of my friends advised me on trying this new website called Housing.com as he has bought a flat with the help of the website in Hyderabad.

Housing.com was the website that had given me the relief to my pride which no other painkiller could have provided as it was a magical website for real estate, to begin with. The website had some of the most advanced options which I could have never imagined, like:

  • Firstly, it had all the areas demarcated separately like Tambaram, Selaiyur and one could search flats based on the specific areas only.
  • Secondly, the website had amazing features like flats for Bachelors or family, with great nightlife, great commute or even brokerage free renting where you can contact the owner of the house for rent in Chennai directly from the comfort of your home.
  • The website also had options to select the number of BHK's you need and also the number of bathrooms you need for your flat.
  • It would also state you the face of the house and one can choose the right Vaastu according to your needs.
  • It also provided you with options for the amenities that you would require like swimming pool, parking, parks, gym and more.
  • It also provided you options for contacting flats through brokers, developers or flat owners directly.
  • It has huge choices and provides not only rented flats but also penthouses, independent house, duplex, studio apartments, independent floor houses, villas too and
  • Finally, all these options are available in flats for sale in Chennai too and not only for renting purposes.

All you have to do for it was to do the following:

That is all you would have to do to search for a house for rent in Chennai or flats for sale in Chennai.
