When I am talking about my favorite hidden gems in Europe, I will ensure to give every detail of my experience, as that can be helpful to all my readers. Let us first discuss Europe tourism - It is a thriving industry with about 500 million travelers visiting every year. Europe has some of the best travel destinations in the world - Bohemian Prague, Paris, Lisbon, eternal Rome, and the list goes on. I am sure you would have already heard about the places mentioned above, but I am here to surprise you with the lesser-known spots, the ones you might have never heard of before.

Go get there, know more about the hidden gems in Europe:

  •  Tolmin Gorge, Slovenia

Located in the southern part of Triglav national park - offers the moss-covered rocks, narrow passages that give you feeling - of treasure hunt and the water is actually as blue as in the pictures. It is pretty easy to access and the trail is well maintained and protected. I hope you do not mind a small difficult walk, though it is not as difficult as hiking. Sometimes it gets a little difficult for the families to get there due to many slippery rocks, and some wet dark tunnels. The roundtrip takes a little more than an hour and takes you up to Dante's Cave and to an exciting triangular rock known as "the bear's head". I would totally recommend you to visit with a drive via Triglav National Park, as this place actually deserves its own importance on the list.

You can enjoy the winding roads and try to leave Tolmin well before the sunset as it gets dark quite early in the Gorge.

  • Berat, Albania

It is the most beautiful city in Albania, in the 3rd century B.C the place was turned into a castle city known as Antipatrea. For the past many years it is untouched and off the beaten path - possesses the number of monuments and interesting places to visit like there are mosques, narrow cobbled streets and I am sure you will fall under its charm from the very first moment. There is no doubt, this beautiful destination is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. I am sure, you do not mind an easy walk across the river Osum offering the spectacular view of the old town. The only challenging part can be climbing the steep-narrow-slipper cobbled streets.

You should have the most famous food item in Albania - Byrek - it is a tasty salty pie and try TaveKosi - it is a tasty quiche-like dish made out of Lamb, eggs, and yogurt.

  • Hallerbos, Belgium

You will fall in love with this blue forest, why is it called "Blue forest"? - as the grounds of Hallebos are covered in bluebellsEvery year around the month of April, tourists flock to the Hallebos in Belgium. There are various walking paths spread throughout the Hallerbos and visitors are urged not to stray from them in order to protect the precious flowers. In case if you do not want to wander around then would recommend you to download the maps from the Hallerbos website.

  • Tellaro, Italy

As I have already specified, it is one of my hidden gems in Europe and it is truly considered as one of Italy's best-kept secrets. There are two towns that are lovelier - Tellaro and Gulf of Poets. The best part about visiting this place is that you will be one of the few foreign tourists as many of them are unaware of this mysterious and gorgeous place. You can walk all alone on the beach - it is far better than anything on the Cinque Terre. Explore Italy's last undiscovered coastal paradise. You can try Osteria Del Borgo restaurant - it is the most famous restaurant in Tellaro, Italy. What are you waiting for - it is just a short journey away from Cinque Terre.

  • Cutar, Spain

It is one of the cutest little towns I have ever visited - be prepared as I do not really think there are many hotels around.  It is a picturesque village located in the Axarquia region of Malaga - a gorgeous patch of land at the foothills of the Sierra Tejada. Cutar is a small town, so I would suggest you can combine the other white villages of Malaga to make it a good day trip and uncover the surrounded white villages as well.
