As the holidays approach, you are all set with a location in mind to travel and make some good memories. And a big part of traveling is how you travel. In a country like India which is so huge, we have a multitude of options at our expense to choose from. But by far the most interesting, the most time effective and the cheapest option to travel by is Indian Railways. Here’s why when you’re given an option, you should always take the train rather than a bus.

It’s About The Journey, Not The Destination

This famous quote is somewhat of a cliche, but it rings true when you have to travel anywhere using public transport. The mode of your transport can make or break your vacation even before it starts. Buses in India have a decent infrastructure but they cannot compare with the ease and mobility of the Indian Railways. You still have to go to a bus stand and book your ticket and most of the times, buses don’t run on time. Also, the road infrastructure on which the buses run is far inferior to the railways. So unless you are a fan of bumpy rides which can spoil your mood before your vacation, you should just stick to the trains.

Ease Of Booking

One thing that is synonymous with Indian Railways is the IRCTC website which is by far the easiest method to book your train tickets if you want to travel in any part of the country. It is as simple as searching for the station in the city you want to go to, selecting the train, the class you want to ride and done. The tickets can also be booked via mobile and you don’t even have to print your ticket confirmation. Just flash the e-ticket or the confirmation SMS to the ticket examiner and you’re good to go. It is one of the most effective and easy to use service provided by one of the biggest transportation companies on earth.

Travel In Style

You can’t always find a sleeper coach or an air-conditioned bus to your destination. But you are almost always guaranteed an AC coach and a full berth to any destination inside the country you want to travel to. It is one of the most comfortable and the most logical way to travel when one is traveling long distances. Even for shorter distances, you can opt for the chair car version of the train where you get arguably more comfortable chairs than you will get on a similar ride on a bus. There’s also a food pantry and a washroom available to you which makes the journey more pleasant whereas nothing of this sort is available when you travel via bus.

Discover The Country in Luxury

And what better way to discover a country in style with the most preferred mode of transportation of the country, all the while being basked in the opulence of luxury. Indian Railways run special trains like Palace On Wheels, Maharaja Express, Deccan Odyssey and a lot more which are considered to be the most luxurious train journeys on the Earth. These trains take you through the never seen before scenic routes of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Goa etc. and treats you like an actual king and queen while you are on the journey. It is an unforgettable experience and one should try it atl east once in their lifetime.

Overall, train journeys have a lot more soul and adventure than a bus journey can offer. While being cheaper and easier to book via IRCTC, Indian Railways offer a lot more value for money and is much faster and reliable than a bus ride no matter how close or far your destination in this country lies.
